The first weekend in August 2005
We met at Jeff and Dottie Lash's house and had a barbeque and bring a bag of chips buffet with lots of kinds of salsa. There were many salads!
oh well, I'm sure glad I took closeups of everyone. We can't see half the back row!

Becki Kliewer, soon to be a grandmother
Becki, you are giving me the look of someone who knows what I am thinking! "Stop that!"
Cathy and her great smile
Cathy's quote for the day was, "I can't believe that I have been married for more years than I was single!"
Cindy, not the funniest shot of Cindy, but nice anyway
I've told Cindy that I love capturing her laughing. To me that is the life line to what she exudes! Check out the photo called the three amigos later in this blog!
did you really spend all summer being a camp nurse in Colorado
Jan is asking Nancy about her summer stint as a camp nurse in an all girl camp in Estes Park, Colorado.
I hate to mention it Jan, but when Kathryn saw this photo she said, "That picture is very similar to the one you took of her a year ago at J.J.'s. She's always holding an adult beverage!"

Dottie Lash, mother of the groom in one more week
You know, Dottie, you look too young to have a son that is getting married! Keep them sisters up!
Ed Dick the future mayor of aurora
Let me know if you need me to send a copy of this to the Aurora News Register!
Glen looks like he is wearing the neighbor's house for a hat
Look real close at this photo and right behind Lew is the only photo of Smitty
Glenn Obermeier, seed corn hat
I'm glad I remembered to take your photo even though I skipped Smitty. He didn't get a close up like you!
Greg Schaffert, in NE for niece's wedding
It was so nice that you gave us your afternoon, Greg! While your wife and kids were doing other family wedding type things (pedicures etc) you gave us the gift of your time...we appreciated the extra time to talk to you!
Now can I be a part of the club? We can kick my sister out!

group shot far enough away that we all look thin
I think I posted this picture twice and didn't put the close up one on the blog. I will try again later to get the other one uploaded. Sorry
J.J. contemplates how Janaree will get out of the lawn chair
The words coming out of his mouth were, "I don't think she is going to make it!"
Jan Dick, extremely friendly to everyone
Now I know this isn't fair to point out, but Jan looks great in her sunglasses...right!
Jan Smith, very fun wife of Smitty
During lunch, I got to talk with Smitty and Jan and we tore through the many joys and woes of raising teen agery young adults!
Janaree was available to take pictures of the event
I asked Preston (Cindi's husband) to take my picture so that I could be accounted for.
Jeff Lash, it's his barbeque and he can wear whatever shirt he wants

Kathryn's pant legs with nobody inside em
This is just part of Kathryn's outfit for the Par-tay! (Kathryn is my daughter. My being janaree)
Lew Wyant, middle school teacher in Omaha
I hope I didn't twist reality when I said you were a middle school teacher. After I thought about it for a while...I wondered if it wasn't high school. I'm not very good at asking small talk interview questions...sorry!
(who said I never took journalism?)

Mike Thompson, fourth floor Abel hall comrade and Val's husband
Well, I guess I had never known that Mike was familiar with many of the Aurora seventy three-ers from fourth floor Abel Hall (University of Nebraska in Lincoln)! I got the gist that it was from that comradery which led Val to meet Mike at some wonderful dorm party.
moving toward a group photo
I love to take seriously CANDID photos of people during the six to twelve minutes it takes for everyone to congregate for a group photo. I'm not a good sheep herder!
Nancy, leaning back with cell phone to get more shade
The fact that we played musical chairs (to the CD music Hadley sent) served a purpose when the sun moved over and suddenly a guest might find themselves in the sun!
On Jeff and Dottie's patio
Serious political discussions were had by all! (not)
Sandi arrives and the party starts again
Even though it was a warm day, the patio behind Jeff and Dottie's house was shady and pleasant!
Sandi Geier, when she came late we hoped she had dessert
Now I have to explain this title. All the classmates who got the email invitation, decided to come to Jeff and Dottie's place, and were able to RSVP...were supposed to write back in the email and tell what they were bringing to the party. Becky (Morgan) French promised to bring several dozen Eileen's Cookies! She canceled at the last minute and hence...no one brought dessert!
Sherri Wyant, Lew's very amiable wife
See...even spouses have fun listening to our many reminisis sess...hum..memories
Group shot slightly closer
I like the fact that there is plenty of space around the group. Click directly on the photo and you can visit my flickr account and I will try to add some tags to each face.
Preston, Cindy's well humored husband
I truly enjoyed talking with Preston and felt he kept up with most of the stories we told about each other!
the three amigos
You three are really looking good! I imagine you will look at this photo and say, "We're we really having this much fun?"
